Our Mission
OwnTheHorse exists to bring transparency and accountability to the online casino experience for Americans. The offshore casino market is vast, complex at the federal level and often confusing for players trying to separate legitimate platforms from unreliable ones. We bridge that gap by testing every casino ourselves — with real money, real withdrawals and real support interactions — and publishing our findings without sugarcoating.
We are not affiliated with any single casino operator. While we do earn referral commissions when readers sign up at casinos through our links, this commercial relationship never influences our rankings or review scores. Casinos that pay higher commissions do not receive better scores, and casinos that refuse to work with us commercially can still appear on our recommended list if they meet our standards. Our revenue model funds the testing process, but it does not dictate the results.
Our Review Process
Every casino review on OwnTheHorse follows the same structured methodology. We begin by verifying the casino's license directly with the issuing regulatory authority. We then create a real account, deposit our own funds and spend at minimum 72 hours actively playing games, testing customer support and navigating the platform. We complete a full withdrawal cycle to verify payout speed and reliability. Only after this hands-on evaluation do we score the casino across six weighted categories: licensing, bonus fairness, game selection, payout speed, mobile experience and customer support.
We re-test our top 20 recommended casinos monthly. If a casino's performance degrades — slower payouts, worse support, player complaints — its score is adjusted accordingly. Casinos can and do move up or down in our rankings based on ongoing performance, not just their initial review.
Meet the Team
Editorial Independence
Every recommendation on this site is based on our testing results, not commercial arrangements. We maintain a strict separation between our editorial and commercial operations. Casino operators cannot pay for higher scores, priority placement or favorable review language. If a casino approaches us and offers a premium commission in exchange for a top ranking, we decline. Our credibility with readers is worth more than any individual referral deal.
We disclose our affiliate relationships transparently: when you click a link to a casino on our site and sign up, we may earn a referral commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund our testing and keep the site running without charging readers for access. The commission structure does not affect which casinos we recommend or how we score them.
Contact Us
We welcome feedback, corrections and questions from our readers. If you have had an experience at a casino that differs significantly from our review, we want to hear about it. Player reports help us identify changes in casino performance between our scheduled re-testing cycles.
